Helmholtz “Color meets Flavor” Excellence Network Approved

The Forschungszentrum Jülich, together with its partners, has been awarded funding for the new Helmholtz “Color meets Flavor” Excellence Network (CmFEN). The proposal, led by Prof. Dr. Ulf-G. Meißner, has been successfully approved and will receive financial support from the Helmholtz Association’s Initiative and Networking Fund. A total of more than 480,000 EUR has been granted, with the funding period officially starting on January 1, 2026.

The “Color meets Flavor” Excellence Network brings together leading researchers in the fields of theoretical physics, hadron physics, quantum physics, and related disciplines. The funding will enhance scientific collaboration, support the recruitment of young talents, and strengthen international exchange.

With the approval of this network, the Helmholtz Association reaffirms its commitment to fostering outstanding scientific collaboration and strengthening Germany’s position as a leading location for cutting-edge fundamental research.
